Personalization Guidelines

Personalized gifts are made for one person, so we read every name and message before printing. These guidelines explain what we can print and what we have to decline.

What we happily print

  • Names, nicknames, initials, dates and short messages.
  • Family names, pet names, “est.” years and wedding dates.
  • Quotes and phrases that are your own or in the public domain.
  • Emoji-free text in English or other languages that use the Latin alphabet.

What we can’t print

  • Trademarks and brand names: sports teams, schools, logos, characters, movie or TV quotes, or anything that suggests an official product.
  • Copyrighted material: song lyrics, book passages, artwork or photos you don’t own.
  • Other people’s identity: a celebrity’s name or likeness used to promote something.
  • Hate or harassment: content that attacks people for race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation or any protected trait.
  • Violence, threats or illegal activity, and sexually explicit text.
  • Personal information of others: phone numbers, home addresses or ID numbers of anyone who hasn’t agreed.

How we review orders

A real person checks the text of every order before it goes to print. If something can’t be printed, we email you within one business day to suggest a change. If we can’t find a solution together, we cancel the order and give a full refund. You are never charged for an item we decline.

Spelling and accuracy

We print exactly what you type, so please double-check names, dates and capitalization in the live preview. We’ll point out obvious typos when we spot them, but we can’t change what you entered without your OK.

Your responsibility

By placing an order you confirm that you have the right to use the text you provide and that it doesn’t break these guidelines or anyone else’s rights.
